Colorado Bend State Park, a 5328.3-acre facility, is located west of Lampasas in San Saba and Lampasas counties. The park site was purchased partly in 1984, with the balance acquired in 1987; the park was subsequently opened in 1987. The park is located at the former sites of the Gorman and Lemons Ranches above Lake Buchanan. Cave tour lasted approximately 3 hours. Each tour was limited to ten people but we hadreserved spaces for both days (Jan 27 and 28). Gorman Falls Tours: Colorado Bend State Park has some beautiful, 60-foot waterfalls and guided hikes are available morning and afternoon on Saturday and Sunday. We had the opportunity to tour both the caves and the water falls. Colorado Bend State Park also has 15.8 miles of hiking trails and 14 miles of mountain bike trail so lots of opportunity to get out and enjoy. Fishing can be excellent but not much of a chance to hit them hard on this campout.
