Camp Pioneer, Arkansas...Located in the beautiful foothills of the Ouachita Mountains in southwestern Arkansas...this year's Summer Camp was a memorable experience in a beautiful setting. The camp's hills are covered by pines and hardwood trees with the Mountain Fork River and Two Mile Creek adding to its natural scenic beauty.
We had many opportunities to develop camping skills, earn merit
badges, meet other Scouts and participate in lots of fun, outdoor activities. Boy
Scout Summer Camp is an environment in which the Scouts work together learning
and teaching; it's a learning by doing environment with activities from dawn until well
after dusk. Camp Pioneer offers a wide range of Summer Camp fun with an
emphasis on the activities that are naturals for a camp located in a mountainous
area.
Some of the programs offered at this exceptional camp include:Mountain Hiking, Mountain Man Program,
Rich Mountain 17 Mile Hike,
Climbing and Rappelling and Extensive Aquatics Program in junior Olympic pool.
A full range of merit badge opportunities were available including: scout skills (pioneering, orienteering, emergency preparedness, wilderness survival, first aid, etc.); ature/ecology (fishing, forestry, environmental conservation, fish and wildlife management, geology, etc.); handicraft (basketry, pottery, woodcarving, leatherwork, etc.) and field sports (archery, rifle, & shotgun). Plus many more!
As you can see in the scrapbook pictures, everyone had a lot of fun!
